Oporto bottled.
Drank this with a few friends in Tokyo after a wonderful dinner of roast lamb, potatoes and vegetables.
Decanted about 10 hours before drinking.
Still about 70% opaque, rich nose of currant. Full bodied, slightly peppery, great length, with still a fair amount of tannin. Absolutely magnificent (have had a couple recently that were a bit off); port as it should be. It still has lots of time, and whilst it might yet get better, it may be approaching its peak. My wife and I converted a couple more people to vintage port. I didn't even make it to the excellent aged cheddar that one guest brought (it disappeared rather quickly as well).
The 1980 Sandeman that I served with it was very pleasant, and would have shown well on its own, but was a step down nonetheless.
