2011 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep purple-red in colour with a very narrow rim. Wonderful on the nose, floral and fragrant, attractive and mouthwatering. Delicious and fragrant entry, full of light sweet and fragrant bramble fruit. Gentle tannins hold the balance and persist through the aftertaste and long finish. Huge levels of the fruit throughout this port. This is a very fine port with the balance between the fruit, acidity and tannins that promises a long and fabulous life. Great port. 93/100. 24-Feb-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
