1970 Croft

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From a bottle ullaged to low shoulder. Polished mahogany in colour, attractive. Slightly oxidised nose, full of furniture polish. Smooth on the palate, red glace cherries with a powerful dose of acidity - big and mouthfilling. Rather hot on the aftertaste, which leads to a long finish full of red cherry and golden syrup. Enjoyable port. 85/100. Opened 06-Feb-16. Decanted 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
