1970 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red and mature in colour; 70% opaque. Mature nose of dry red cherries. A delightful elegance on the palate with concentrated cherries and redcurrants. Soft tannins support a dry core to the palate but all combine to give a wonderful palate. A touch of heat on the aftertaste before a very long finish. Delicious, slightly sweet, great layers of flavour. Drinking much better today than when opened yesterday. 90/100. Drunk 26-Dec-15. Decanted 24 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
