2011 Sandeman Vau

Purple, opaque and with no rim. An incredible fragrant nose, full of blueberries, bruised apples and masses of lavender. Sweet entry, a lovely texture and then a building wave of ripe, sweet blackcurrant and blueberry fruit. A huge torrent of tannins lurk behind all this fruit; the combination delivers a fabulous and elegant mouthful. There is a big aftertaste and finish that delivers a tasty combination of black fruit and dark coffee tannins. 91/100. 06-May-15.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
