2011 Sandeman

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep purple in colour, opaque and very young looking. Lifted and elegant nose, powerful and fragrant, full of sour blackcurrants. Sour fruit on the palate, then huge tannins grab and don't let go. There is masses of sour fruit and a huge acidity. The finish is big; very, very big full of fruit and backed with sour and powerful acidity. This is a massive port with a 30-50 horizon before it reaches its peak. 94-96/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
