1982 Ramos Pinto

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, mature but still dark; 50% opaque. On the nose this shows dirty, bruised plums. Balanced and poised on entry, full of sweet fruit. There is a good palate presence but there is a persistent dirty tone to the fruit which is sweet and slightly baked but this is balanced by a nice level of acidity. Soft sweet jelly beans dominate the aftertaste and morph into a mild cherry and black chocolate finish. A modest but very pleasant port. 87/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
