Hi all, I have cleared out my late fathers wine cellar and have a bottle of Martinez Finest Vintage Port 1955 and a W&J Graham’s Vintage Port 1988 and would like to sell them on. Could you give some advice on rough value and how to sell please?

Many thanks

Firstly, it would be a good idea to read our standard advice for selling Port.

As for your bottles, the Graham's Late Bottled Vintage 1988 has no real value - perhaps £10? - as it is not a style that should be stored for the length of time it has been as will really just be of academic interest to whoever drinks it. Your Martinez 1955 has a retail value of around £250 if in tip-top condition and sold through a reputable wine merchant. It would probably sell for significantly less at auction.

You will see from the standard advice linked to above that a private seller is unlikely to achieve retail price and your likely return would be around half the retail price, perhaps a bit more.

Someone here might be interested so it would help to know where you are in the world?

I purchased the Martinez, which is in excellent condition.
Ben was a gentleman and the transaction was smooth and straightforward with no issues.
