Two vintage bottles of Port for sale

Post by matthew taylor »

Hi I have two bottles of port which were my fathers. They were stored correctly by him for many years in a cool dark cellar where he stored lots of other wines. I have had them for about 4 years, have stored them on their side but not in the complete dark and in a space where the temperature is a little more variable. You can see the condition of the bottles from the photos one is a 1945 Armandio's Old Tawny Port bottled in 1973. The other is a 1952 Porto Colheita, not sure when it was bottled but think it says 1974. I am never going to drink them so thought someone out there might like them am open to offers.

Thank you for posting here, and eloquently with pictures. Please say where in the world you are — or, more importantly, where the bottles are.

Hi, is the 1952 slightly seeping? It looks from the first picture that it might be a bit "sticky" around the broken wax capsule.

Hi, I am in Cornwall. And yes the top of the Porto 52 is sticky where the wax has broken.
