Cellar Defenders

Post by DRT »

My port consumption at home has dropped to such a low level that my need for cellar defenders has diminished to almost zero.

The following are in my Seckfords account attracting storage fees with no immediate or medium-term prospect of being drunk by me so I have decided to weed out some cases that others might put to better use.

Almost all of the above have been in my storage account since 2007/8. The prices are my attempt to recall what I paid plus a little to recover at least part of what I have paid in storage. Hopefully these prices look like good value but if not I would be open to reasonable offers. All prices are duty and VAT paid.

Preference will be given to those with Seckford accounts that I can transfer the cases to and leave you to do the rest. Storage from the point of sale or delivery will be at the buyer's cost.

Please send me a PM if interested in any of these.

Is the SW any good..? And will the price crash be applied to all those items still under negotiation?

I haven't tasted the SW for years but there should be plenty of notes on it here.

Price crash only applied to those for which no interest had been expressed. The others are what they are.

I have other offers on the cases I am holding for you.

Nice try

I'm waiting for the realisation that you're not going to drink all your Croft 1945 before I send you my money.

More seriously, I think this is a really nice thing for you to do. You could probably have got a better price if you had gone down the auction route but sharing with fellow port lovers in the way you have is very generous behaviour and I applaud you for that.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Ain't he lovely. Just look at him, all lovely an' all. I just wanted to echo Alex's sentiment in my own way.

Thank you, Alex. It has actually been quite good fun doing this rather than punting it all to a faceless auction and, as if by magic, I have turned the above cases of port into one of these :piginpoo:

Don't do that. If you weep your levels will go down and you'll be worth less.

List updated again - we are getting down to the bottom of the pallet.

There are currently eight six-packs available with a total price of £675. If anyone takes all of them they can have them for £600. To save you doing the maths, that's £12.50 a bottle.

Not sure. This type of telescope isn't particularly good for photography - but it won't stop me trying

OK - I just want rid of this stuff so that I don't pay any more storage fees.

The price is now ridiculous. Please can someone buy these and drink them?

Done.

PM incoming.

...and what do you have against Tesco (circa 2007/8 and therefore possibly but possibly not Quarles Harris) 1994?

Thank you to all who have purchased from this list. I am extremely pleased that these ports will be enjoyed by friends and will not sit languishing in my Seckfords account for longer than they should.

There is one six-pack left. Go on - buy it!

If the ridiculously low price is too high please make me an offer so that my success rate as a wine merchant goes to 100%
