Port for sale

Post by porco »

I have a quantity of miscellaneous vintage port for sale. It has been stored in a three quarters cellar in Stratford for more than twenty years. Before that some of it was in a cellar in Shere and else where in other cellars. None of it has been moved for over twenty years until the last month and it is now in my home near Farnham in Surrrey. Sadly the house in Stratford has been sold hence the need for me to move and sell it. I have drunk a couple of bottles in the last couple of weeks and it is excellent.
I would rather sell the whole lot to one buyer than sell parts of it to numerous buyers. I am happy to open a random bottle or two for testing with any serious buyer.

3 bottles Fonseca 1970
5 Bottles Dows 1975
4 Bottles Ferrera 1977
I case Taylors 1977
I case Fonseca 1980
2 Cases Fonseca 1983
I case Taylors 1985
12 Bottles Grahams 1985
11 Bottles Dows 1985
3 Bottles Fonseca 1985
1 Bottle Warre 1985

Ninety-nine bottles of Port, mostly fine stuff.

FYI, please do read our Standard advice to would-be vendors.

I make it 97.

Rough guess on hammer price at auction, maybe £3,200. Not sure you'll find a single buyer who is all set to part with that amount.

Alas my finances prohibit. But if somebody wants to take the lead on a consortium deal, I’m sure that would be satisfactory to the vendor.

A consortium might be an idea-and I only live down the road in Farnborough! Anyone else interested PM me.

Seriously! That's a nice assortment of Port, and I'd be happy to go in on a group purchase of something like that over here. But alas...
