Blunder...

Post by flash_uk »

Having some port with cheese tonight. Opened and double decanted a Warre 83. QA taste during decant suggests lovely juice. As there are a few family members likely to try some glasses, also bought a Tesco 1994 VP.

Midway through double decant, I am puzzled when the original bottle seems to be filling up quickly yet I have more to pour in...

Guess who forgot to toss out the water when rinsing the bottle before decanting the filtered port back into original bottle?

Thank goodness it was a £20 bottle of Tescos and not something else :D

Ooops. Was it one of the good Tesco 1994s, or from the rubbish batch?

You now have a bottle and a bit of cooking wine. Time for a boeuf bourgignon.

Only half the bottle was "diluted", and the QA taste was very promising. Might go back and buy the other 4 on the shelf!
