Youngest Port Not Tasted

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

For a diversion at lunchtime today, I was looking through my tasting notes to see what was the youngest vintage I hadn't tasted from each of the major producers (using The Book as a reference). A surprising theme emerged...

2003 Cockburn
1947 Croft
2003 Dow
1934 Fonseca
2000 Gould Campbell
1935 Graham
2003 Martinez
1992 Niepoort
2003 Offley
1996 Quinta do Noval
2011 Quarles Harris
2004 Ramos Pinto
1962 Sandeman
2003 Smith Woodhouse
1975 Taylor
2003 Warre

(The wines in bold are wines which I have somewhere in the cellar. The ones not in bold are ones which I really should make an effort to buy and try!)
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
