As far as I can remember from when the wine was shown at the BFT in May this year, it is a special blend put together purely for this bottling. I forget what the average age of the wine is, but I'll see if I can find out.

Thanks Alex,

At ~45$ release prices it would fit in roughly at the 20 year tawny range.

As far as I remember from ProWein, this is a special reserve Tawny Port, average of less than 10y old.

The important thing here is the bottle, you would not purchase this for the Port.

Best

We tasted this at the Taylor lodge prior to PHT2 this year, and what Axel says is exactly correct. It is a Reserve Tawny Port and tastes (to me) much like a fruitier (as opposed to nuttier) style of 10 year old tawny.

My note: "Light red with some tawny notes. Spirity nose, some caramel, but mostly vaguely fruity. Soft and sweet in the mouth with fine tannins. Fairly simple, but tasty. 87 points."

The note may have been (probably was) affected by the tasting order, which had this Historic Series Limited Edition Reserve Tawny following immediately after a 95-point 2016 Taylor Vintage Port.

Regardless, for me not worth the price.
