Quinta do Noval Olive Oil

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

I have a small parcel of the Noval Olive Oil from the 2017 harvest which is due to be delivered to me in the next couple of weeks.

If anyone would like some of the parcel, please let me know by PM, email or reply in thread. Cost this year is £10 per 50cl bottle.

Thanks.

From your other thread regarding (I believe) the same order:
AHB wrote: 10:10 Thu 14 Dec 2017 I'm ordering some (new harvest) olive oil which should arrive in the UK in January. I'm ordering 48 x 50cl bottles. Cost is approximately £10 per bottle.

I'm happy to share (or happy to keep them all!). If anyone would like any, please say so here.
  • AHB - 30 bottles
  • CMAG - 12 bottles
  • PW - 6 bottles
I'd still like the same, please; or can take less if the delivered batch is smaller than planned.

The other thread does relate to this order and I guess I could / should have posted there but given the fact that it's taken 3 months to get the oil from Portugal to the UK I wanted people to have the chance to change their order if they wished to.

Phil- your request for 6 is noted.
Simon - your request for 1 bottle is noted.

this is my favorite oil as well. It just won my blind competition against the Malvedos Olive oil.

There is one blender, who does almost all the oil-blendings in the Douro. We need to invite him for a tasting sometime.

Not this time round, but I plan to add some more to the order of Noval 2016 that we will inevitably purchase once the announcements have all been made.

Alex - I'm happy to let Ben have three of my six, if that works.

I have just taken delivery of the winter 2018/19 vintage of Quinta do Noval olive oil. There are a dozen bottles which have not yet been allocated a home. Anyone who would like some and hasn't already let me know, please post below or send me an email.

As last year, the cost is £10 per 50cl bottle with delivery to be arranged at a mutually convenient time and place.

I should also mention that we are still the first people in the UK to have imported Quinta do Noval's olive oil - and with the exception of the staff of their UK importers, we are still the only buyers. I am starting to see it appear at trade shows alongside the wines though...

I think Douro olive oil is going to totally take off and there will be a large increase in production over the years to come.

As I have said before I think a table of olive oils at trade shows would be great. I have seen them sold in wine shops so a natural move!

I agree with you. At a couple of trade shows I've been to recently, the Douro producers have had samples of their olive oils on the table alongside their wines - inviting visitors to dip small peices of bread into the oil to taste it.

Alex - Probably a long shot at this point, but close to running out and have enjoyed using the bottle we have had previously - if you still had some bottles to spare, I'd happily take 2 or 3 from you at next opportunity. No worries if all allocated/gone, of course, especially given time has passed.
