Another victory for JDAW, who alerted the Symingtons to Winston Churchill's connection with this port a few years ago

BA have always had a reasonable Port offer. If I recall from the days when I used to fly a lot and before they went buy-on-board, you could get Graham Tawny in economy, Graham LBV in Club and Warre colheita in First.

I took a look back through my notes to see what Port I've drunk while travelling with various over the last decade or so. This is what I came up with:
7 Feb 2007 — BA business: Warre 2001 filtered LBV from bottle flying between London and Chicago
13 May 2007 — BA lounge Heathrow T1: Warre 1988 colheita from bottle
28 Jul 2007 — BA lounge Johannesburg: Allesverloren 2003 from bottle
6 Aug 2007 — BA first: Warre 1988 colheita from bottle
2 Nov 2007 — BA business: Warre 1999 filtered LBV from bottle flying between Los Angeles and London
22 Nov 2007 — Cathay Pacific business: Graham 2000 LBV from half bottle flying from Shanghai to Hong Kong
30 Mar 2008 — BA business: Warre 2001 filtered LBV from bottle flying from London to Miami
29 Jul 2010 — BA business: Warre 2004 filtered LBV from bottle flying from London to St Lucia
29 Jul 2011 — BA lounge Gatwick: Warre 1992 colheita from bottle
12 Mar 2016 — BA lounge Heathrow T5: Warre 2009 filtered LBV from bottle
12 Sep 2016 — BA lounge Heathrow T5: Warre 2011 filtered LBV from bottle
28 Nov 2016 — BA lounge Heathrow T5: Warre 2011 filtered LBV from bottle
19 Jun 2017 — TAP business: Graham 2011 LBV from 50cl miniature

It seems my memory was partially correct, but it was Warre filtered LBV and not Graham LBV that was poured in BA business class. Is Graham 6-grapes an improvement on Warre filtered LBV? I'll let you know in a couple of weeks!

If anyone is interested, at Heathrow Terminal 5 BA has half bottles of Warre 2000 colheita (bottled 2016) in all their lounges in the main building. This was also the port I was offered on board BA0057 to Johannesburg.

It seems that the Six Grapes hasn't yet reached the consumer.

Sadly the lounge in Johannesburg Airport no longer serves Cape Vintage wines, although duty free has a good selection at prices which are not too absurd.

And BA0056 back to the UK had Warre 2009 LBV on the wine list but your eagle-eyed correspondent spotted that it was actually the Graham 6 Grapes. Despite not being the River Quintas edition, it drank quite well.

In the BA Galleries lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3, there are two bottles of Taylor 2011 LBV.

Another week, another port.

I confess, I am surprised at the fact that 5 days later the Taylor 2011 LBV has gone from the Terminal 3 BA lounge to be replaced by a bottle of Warre 2000 colheita and a bottle of Graham 6 Grapes. I had assumed that no-one drank the ports provided in the lounge and therefore they were likely to be a bit stale and baked. Now I know. I can drink BA's port with more confidence.

It seems that the change to Graham 6 Grapes is happening. In the T5 BA Galleries Lounge (North) there are two bottles of Graham 6 Grapes. In the Galleries Lounge (South) there were two bottles of Graham 6 Grapes and one bottle of Warre 2000 colheita bottled 2017. There are now two bottles of Graham 6 Grapes and an empty bottle.
