A Gould Campbell 1980. One of those recently released by the newness of the cork. Good wine though, very dark and could do with another ten years.

Earlier in the week, a half-bottle of Fonseca Guimaerans 1995. Good, but still young for my taste, though now maturing quite quickly (in halves, at least). Tonight, a Graham's 30yr tawny opened; will post TNs.

I've just finished an absolutely splendid bottle of Vesuvio 1994 that I bought when it first shipped over. It fully lived up to its reputation.

But it still wasn't better than Taylor 2010 LBV so far in 2017?
I have had Smith Woodhouse traditional LBV 2003 and Kopke filtered Late Bottled Vintage 2011, both were quite palatable. SW nicest.

I am rather a long way behind in the tasting notes I have posted. Perhaps I should keep my footer more up to date than my tasting notes. I shall update my footer tomorrow.Old Bridge wrote: ↑22:41 Sat 03 Jun 2017 But it still wasn't better than Taylor 2010 LBV so far in 2017?

Please don't let me rush you AHB. I just thought the Vesuvio must be higher marks than the Taylor LBV.

A half bottle decanter - nice. That's got some class.
I'll probably open a Morgan 1991 this weekend. Or maybe a Churchill 1985. I have both standing up to be drunk soon.

Just opened a Warre 1970 and settled down to watch a recording of the Thursday Night Football game between the LA Rams and SF Fortyniners.

Re: What have you got open this weekend?
Been drinking my way through that bottle of Dalva 2007 white colheita that was gifted to us at the end of the Dalva tasting in Porto. Served chilled it's absolutely delicious and I wish that we could get hold of some more...

Re: What have you got open this weekend?
Interesting, I have been thinking of the Cockburn. But perhaps if I was to buy something young I should wait for the '16s.
Warre 85. Better than I remember it, but no cigar.

Re: What have you got open this weekend?
I'm sitting at home catching up on various bits of paperwork with the New Orleans - Miami game playing on the TV and a bottle of Delaforce 1977 slowly going down. Even dull games are quite interesting when you have a bottle of Delaforce 1977 on hand - I pity the 80,000 people at the stadium though!

Re: What have you got open this weekend?
Yesterday I opened a bottle of Cálem Vintage Port 1985, and tonight I am finishing it off.
A very nice port, and that is a pleasant thought when it is the most abundant VP in my cellar.

Quinta da Romaneira Vintage Port 2011
I tried it with a rare steak last night, but that went against the grain with me. Generic Côtes du Rhône NV felt much more right.

I'm drinking a half bottle of Smith Woodhouse 1983 tonight, before I make yet another trip from Heathrow tomorrow.
