Re: 1934 Niepoort Colheita Porto

Hi Peter:

it would be helpful to know the provenance of the bottle and also where you are in the world (it can be general).

Thanks.

Re: Port in a (franken)Storm?

Took a licking, not as bad as some--wind tore off about 20-25 slates off my roof and gave me a few holes which of course leaked into some bedrooms. A portion of a solid cedar fence is down and a big oak tree in the back woods had the top ripped off. Various folks around town lost cars, pools, porche...

Disappointed in that result. I do thank you for the attempt.

Any effort to resurrect would be appreciated as I'd like to include your fine opinions herein.

I could be interested--are you in the US? I'm in the Metro NY area (New Jersey) and would prefer to obviate shipping.

Re: 20 year tawny tasting

It would be great if you could put a group together. The whole idea started with 20s that we could get easily--hence the initial list (which is small) and can be expanded depending on your group size and motivation. My group is having six: Ferreira ** Taylor Sandeman ** Niepoort Quinta do Noval Ramo...

Big G;

Happy B-Day!

I'm a possibility--not a good one for both dates. I do have a 1985 Fonseca I would bring if coming.

Thank you all for the warm greetings! I have met SushiNorth & G-Man at an informal last March. Now if we could just get you puddle jumpers to jump, we'd have a fine time! :D

Re: Is my LBV ok to drink?

Hi Signus:

Jacob's advice is spot on.

Who is the producer of the LBV? If you are going to drink it, I'd suggest opening it at least 4 hours in advance just to let it blow off a little. If you can, save some to try over 3 days and see if it changes at all.

Greetings and Salutations!

Hello my fellow port lovers. I'm John M from lovely New Jersey, USA. I've been enjoying port a just a few years; my friends and I established an informal Port Club of 13 strong that meets about every 6 weeks or so for a tasting and to hang out with friends. We modestly drink mostly LBVs and some VPs...
