I live in New York. On Thursday Dow 2011 VP was retailing for 100 per bottle. On Friday it was retailing for over 200 per bottle at a few local wine shops. I am unsure which I will be getting. I am hoping to get the on the side versus over the top style. I figured after I receive and practice on a few bottles I will return to distributor with a well aged vintage port to display the use of the tongs and to serve the wine as gratitude.

I buy to drink not to sell. Sometimes prior purchases increase in value between purchase and drinking window to a level where I only keep 1 or 2 bottles and sell the rest to buy more wine.

would say port comprises less than 20% of my collection. Cali cabs, french bdx and Italian piedmont region (nebbiolo grape specifically) lead the pact for me I would imagine.

I here the word 'tongs' i visualize port tongs. news story has dow in its headline I think its about port not stocks you add a splash of port to eggs (i have done this for years) you visit more than 1 website dedicated to port you read the phrase 'port head' and know exactly what it means :lol:
