Final session in Cape Town, bad light and rain look like bringing it to a close as a draw. What a bizarre final few sessions of a test. Credit to Amla and Bavuma - they really did dig SA out of a hole and a loss in this one.

40% opacity, brown-red. Spicy nose. Smooth, soft entry, with a fantastic mix of fruit, spice and chocolate flavours. This was a real surprise on the night for me, excellent port.

35% opacity, red brown. Tobacco on the nose. Palate, a bit dirty, thin, some acidity, no backbone. Not great all round.

30% opacity, orange brown, slightly cloudy. Dusty nose, leather and tobacco. Quite light in the mouth, tiny hint of bitterness, oranges, slightly syrupy finish, no heat. No backbone, lacking tannin.

30% opacity, orange brown. Nose of oranges. Clean palate, sweet, slight heat, very smooth, oranges. Slightly lightweight though and lacking any tannin.

35% orange red. Nose of rich, sweet candy, bubblegum. Smooth in the mouth, very gentle heat, some strawberry. Nice enough port.

30% opacity, dark toffee brown. Nose has an acid sharpness with a faint hint of toffee behind that. In the mouth, watery sugar, or is it sugary water? Possibly oxidised, drinkable, but not enjoyable.
