A very swish bottle complete with pourer. Quite fruity, lovely green salad flavour, good length and sweet finish. Very tasty. Thank you AHB for organising.

Understand 14 is the max. Happy to be on reserve list. Couldn't come on original date, so didn't put name down. Can come in Oct, so did.

Re: Port-based beverages

Sadly I have never had WKD (of any colour). A glaring hole in my education. A quick search of Youtube wasn't terribly helpful - lots of teenagers drinking it as fast as they could to get drunk before going out. A helpful Ozzie reviewed a bottle whilst sitting in his car (yes, very odd) and described...

Thanks. Scooped up a few - the additional £15 off £120 helped!

Sandeman LBV 2011 on sale at WaitroseCellar (onlne) 25% off at £11.99 with an additional £15 off if spending £120 or more with voucher code WNAUTUMN15. Wine has to be bought in multiples of 6, but this additional voucher works out rather well for a case of 12. They do now seem to charge for delivery...

Re: Which LBVs are worth cellaring?

Both Sandeman 09 LBV and Ferreira 09 LBV opened this weekend. Both very good indeed. Both much better than filtered Noval 05. I'm sorry that many will fail to come across the excellent unfiltered LBV and assume filtered LBV is as good as the category gets. Clear labelling could help, and maybe even ...

Re: Which LBVs are worth cellaring?

I note that Noval also appear to be making both filtered and unfiltered LBV, so caution needed when purchasing.. Noval have been doing that for several years at least, with both available via major suppliers and supermarkets in the UK at different times (and at least once both seen by myself at the...

Re: JDAW dreams of Portugal - Harvest 2016

The pictures are great, but I'd really love to see a video of JDAW zooming on a skateboard. I'm assuming it would bring to mind various James Bond car chases, dashing expertly through narrow streets. Here is a link to JDAW late running late to a tasting. With apologies for the dreadful aspect ratio...

Breeding implies pedigree. Pedigree implies "class" where higher class is apparently better. In today's world, the concept is debatable.

In addition, my nearest branch has Sainsbury Taste the Difference vintage port 1998 and 1999 on offer for £12 per bottle or Taylor 2009 and 2010 LBV at £7.20 per bottle. Vintage port @ £9 per bottle anyone? My local Supermarkets never have these mythical specials. Grr. If it isn't on the website it...

The Malvedos struck me as the best too. Six grapes and even Noval LBV rather too much. The wine list is constructed to make less margin on more expensive bottes, and the food is excellent at a more than fair price, so I can forgive them.

Vermouth. Does anyone drink Vermouth neat?

If Buckie counts do QC British wine, Thunderbird, or Scotsmac also count. Perhaps not - too far off the spirit of the thread?
