Re: 1966 Croft
35% opacity, mature red, amber rim. Soft and chewy, oranges and peppermint. Much more mature, soft and sweet than the other ports on show - more like a Cr63 than what I would expect for a Cr66.

30% opacity, mature red, orange rim. Rich red fruit on the nose. Soft and smooth, gentle bitterness, toffee, drying cranberries, though a slightly artificial flavour in the finish. Pleasant enough but not a stunner.

40% opacity, mature rich red. Lovely sweet strawberry nose. Chewy entry, some bitterness, very nice. No points from me, which feels harsh.

40% oapcity, mature warm red. Red fruit and very faint nougat on the nose. Soft smooth entry, nice and chewy, gentle heat late palate and the finish has a gentle bitterness. Better N66 exists, but this is a fine port.

Super evening with great company and great port. Many thanks to Neil for organising us and Julian for placemats, to Charles for his bonus bottle that proved to be far from shabby, to Tony for pulling out a backup bottle of Ferreira, and to Chris for very generously sharing the Dom Pérignon Rosé '02....

Re: Time for a TN sort?
But are we doing this the right way? Someone commented to me the other day that they would prefer all tasting notes for a wine to be in the same thread, regardless whether they were the same bottle or not, so they can read one thread and not have to keep jumping backwards and forwards to find out w...

Re: Time for a TN sort?
I've been posting a backlog of notes. I think we may find one or two tastings in the past two years where we have multiple posts for the same bottle. I've definitiely noticed it for this tasting: Mon 24 April 2023, reprise of a tasting in 1993 for example: 1970 Gould Campbell 1970 Gould Campbell How...
