Re: Taylor's Very Very Old Port
I would surmise that these are being primarily crated up for the nouveau riche in China, who usually have a sweet tooth but also tend to be tannin averse. And if they can command a great price, then the very best of luck to them. However as a UK investment prospect, I would advise no - the secondar...

I would struggle to make this after the tasting of TTF the week before, so I will need to drop out unfortunately.

Re: Warre Private Cellar & Other Late Releases vs “Normal” Bottlings - FEB 2023?
I have just noticed the 23rd would mark the interesting palindromic date mark of 23022023.
EDIT : or maybe I am an idiot and we need to wait nine years for that to work

Re: Warre Private Cellar & Other Late Releases vs “Normal” Bottlings - FEB 2023?
I think I could make either of those Feb 23 dates and still have a ‘normal’ W70 to offer up if required.

Considering the packaging etc, if the juice is proportionally better than the 50YO then it IS a bargain… in relative terms.Alex Bridgeman wrote: ↑16:54 Tue 27 Sep 2022 Fenwick's were the first to get an offer into my inbox. They have priced it at £350 per bottle - so roughly the same price as the Sandeman 50yo.

Definitely interested, but would depend on date. I think I would also need to adopt as I don’t think I have any ‘83s but will double check.

Is it possible to get the batting order and confirm if I should bring the ‘99, ‘01 or neither and adopt? Preference would be either of the bottles I have.

Re: An Evening of Port with the Symington's, Thursday 1st December 2022
We are a funny bunch. We spend a lot of time saying how Port is underpriced and undervalued as one of the worlds great wines, and this is still said despite any recent increases in pricing. But, when there is a movement in the pricing relating to Port to move it towards the pricing for other quality...

Re: Royal Warrants
Thanks Phil. My research prior to posing the question was poor. So to reinforce that poor level of research, I pose another question. Is there any evidence of the new King liking Port or what his tipple is? Jdaw will obviously be writing to see he if he would join us at the Boot and Flogger in the c...

Royal Warrants
With the sad passing of the Queen, meaning we have a new King, I was wondering if Royal Warrants transfer automatically or if each retailer and brand that holds one will need to apply to see if they will be required by King Charles. Anyone know?

I am just wondering why you don’t weigh them as soon as you have them physically to give you a base measurement. Starting at 18 years seems like it may miss being able to spot a trend of loss at an earlier point. Or is that being completely silly?
