Re: 1985 Churchill
(I'm taking dictation from hubby, Mr Wiseman.) He comments: "Opaque plum-red, very bright hue. Nose has spearmint, not regular mint, and plums. The spearmint very strong. Some heat in the mouth, more of the spearmint. Good sweetness. Medium weight. Length good, but not great. And that's all I h...

1985 Dow
Last port tasting for the early afternoon (I'm already getting a buzz). This 1985 Dow freshly decanted (Husband says it's for drinking tomorrow evening, not for later on this evening. Important to mention since you'd all reprimand him for making such a tragic mistake!): Nose, slight leathery scent, ...

A good wife has many duties for her husband: I'm sure most of you can name a few. Sometimes these duties are cumbersome, tedious, and plain exhausting. ;-) One of these many important duties is helping her husband taste freshly decanted port, and is also one that brings me (and the hubby) pleasure. ...

OK, my darling and caring husband asked me if I wanted some port for later this afternoon. So he picked out, for whatever random reason, a 1985 Martinez. Here are my thoughts on this just after decanting: Nose: grapes and raspberries. Tongue/Mouth: Caramel, slightly nutty, dark cherry, vanilla Sligh...

My wife’s opinion is surely that the heroic husband is better than a lifetime of ice cream. Isn’t that right dear. You boys like to play a dangerous game. DRT hiking up the stakes! Hmmmm, yes, the question at hand. Well, yes, I do love a huge bowl of scrumptious ice cream. But, let me tell you a st...

Ok. I've left you all hanging. Let's just say my husband's a good man. Decants 40-year-old port on a random Wednesday evening. Licorice in the nose. Boysenberry in the mouth, lingering into cherries, and a touch of sweet maple. Mmmmm. Deeeelish!

My heroic husband came to my rescue and helped me improve my avatar. Hurray for hubby! Now it looks better. Nice guess DRT. I do love foie gras, but I think I love ice cream better. It's my favorite thing. Ben, you were right.
Now I feel more official with a legit avatar.

Hutcheson???
Look, when I, Supreme Commander, orders you boys "to have fun", it does indeed mean to make the most of this tasting. But even if Hutcheson ever did declare in 1960 or any other year for that matter, you're not allowed to have Hutcheson. Period.
Carry on.

OK! OK! Husband can go. AND he can go to the tasting on the 14th May. I have no idea which one that is. I just know he wants to go to a tasting on the 14th and the 19th. (I'm so good to my hubby.)
