Attachment upload issue

the uploader lies. It says a maximum of 500 kb per upload, yet refused these pictures at 250-ish kb each. I had to further reduce them to their current 80-ish kb each, and even then the "select files to upload" button would not work and I had to drag and drop to get them to upload. Thanks...

Re: Allnutt 1893 Price List

I think these sorts of things are really interesting. Especially for the non-vintage wines since I think we have much less of an understanding about what non-vintage Port used to be available before the modern categories came in. I have lots of these old price lists which were accumulated as part o...

We have the potential for a multiple dozens order, which is hereby declared "sufficient interest".

Could AHB please do his thing? Thank you.

Douro Olive Oil - An Emergency!

This evening I discovered to my horror that I am half way through my last bottle of Douro Olive Oil  I thought I had a six-pack in a cupboard but it turned out to be an empty box. AHB has kindly offered to attempt to organise a bulk purchase for the team if there is sufficient interest. Pleas...

There is already a table of vintages by shipper. I see no real value in repeating that data in an index.

Re: A cork pusher

With apologies for my poor drawing skills, two images to try and help show (a) the minor mod I was suggesting, and (b) how it could be easily extended into addition of bottle opener without additional complexity if wanted. (a) pusher1.jpg The intention by widening the end slightly is to allow the d...

Re: A cork pusher

Having given this a little more thought I think I would want to be able to use this device with one hand so that the other hand can be grasping the bottle to avoid it ending up on the counter top or floor if the cork gave way suddenly and unevenly. I haven’t understood what consequence came of the ...

Re: A cork pusher

Per current diagram, width of tool is same as piston dia at 16mm - all good, and means tool would also fit inserted in bottle lengthways, so could be used per Alex for full push-in; if one end were widened slightly instead of just rounded off at same width, that would also stop tool being able to f...

Re: A cork pusher

An alternative would be to use aluminium, in which case you could have it made by a CNC machine. Your words suggest knowledge that I lack. Please say more about the “CNC machine”. I think Derek is thinking of a computer-numerical controled mill which would, I think, be the only way of producing thi...

Re: A cork pusher

Custom engineering is £$€-tastic. A simple piece of rigid hard metal, no threads, no screws, no moving parts, might well be more economical. This leans against DRT’s more complicated arrangements. I think you should test that theory with an engineer. Your current design is a complex shape from a si...

Re: A cork pusher

At roughly 3 a.m. this morning I awoke with an idea about this. Is the device to be made from a single piece of milled stainless steel? If so, perhaps a combination of AHB's "rod" and JDAW's "bar" could be devised to save some space in the pocket. I am picturing a rod of stainle...
