2014 Quinta do Crasto LBV

Purchased from Admans Norwich for £8.99 for 375ml. Unfiltered. Decanted for 4 hours.

Dark on opening. No sediment. Soft and a bit placid to taste. Blackberries and cherries but not overly complex.

Better LBVs out there for the money.

Re: 1977 Gould Campbell

My brief notes on this:

Is it corked? Not really a finish - it just sort of stops. Very dark. Purple violets.

On having another glass the following evening, the consensus was corked.

1977 Fonseca

Bottled purchased in 2019 from Cheffins along with a Fonseca 1985. In neck fill and no signs of seepage. Drunk in company with venison loin. D+0. Lots of alcohol. Dark dark red. Not a lot of fruit coming through. D+7. Much more integrated. Cinnamon, vanilla and aniseed on the nose. Blackberries. Ver...

Use code LW0631 for orders over £100 to get £20 off if it's used with new account details.

1963 Taylor

Prepped for NYE. Stood for 6 days prior to decant. Fill level MS. Sticky capsule. Cork split on extraction. Initial impressions: Lots of pepper, fiery, not a long finish. Not much on the nose either. Decant +4hrs. Much better. Vanilla, eucalyptus and peppermint. Not too tannic and the pepper/fiery s...
