I can buy a case of Quinta da Romaneira from 1997 (12 bottles) for a very decent price.
If anyone is interested to share the pain and wants more info, please PM since I only need a few bottles.
If someone has TN from the 1997 this is greatly appreciated as well.

Re: A system for keeping cellar/tasting notes
Maybe of-topic, but is it theoretically possible to provide TPF members this as a online tool?
It does look interesting and way better then my manual notes yet I have no clue how to duplicate this...

Re: An Unknown WIne
In general there are 3 types of bottles of which your's seems to be the "fond pique". (see picture) The more expensive wines used to be kept in fond pique's, as it was easier to see the deposits and therefore the need of decanting. I would assume yours was definitely from the early 20's ye...

Re: Out of Curiosity
Hi Oscar,
I'm interested in your vintage 2007.
What are your current shipping prices to the Netherlands or Belgium for one case?
Who will provide you pricing from DHL? (I work for DHL so can try to help)
rgrds,
Dries

I am travelling to Birmingham coming Wednesday evening and returning Thursday late afternoon.
Too short for an offline, but if you know a good shop not too far from Birmingham I might take the opportunity to buy some.

Beer with a port taste !?!?
For the beer lovers under us, I recently heard about a beer that seems to have more similarities with port then with beer :nirvana: - It ages a minimum of 2 years on oak barrels. - It has a red colour which over time becomes browner. - The older it is, the more port/madeira tastes are recognised. - ...

Re: Is port a lot cheaper in Portugal?
Hi all,
Thanks for the good advice. I have a work visit planned in the UK next month and will see if I can find some good deals there.
I do find it strange and unfortunate that the Portuguese prices are not lower. It would've been another good reason to visit Portugal.
rgrds,
Dries

Re: Is port a lot cheaper in Portugal?
btw. If I would go to Portugal to buy the 2007 VP , I obviously would take the opportunity to visit some quinta's and get some more port.
So I'm really interested to know if there is a general price difference and if it would be worth to buy locally.

Is port a lot cheaper in Portugal?
Hi All, I am planning to buy some 2007 VP's and am currently looking at the pricing in Holland which appears to be very expensive. The Fonseca for example costs 472,50EUR for 6 bottles which to be fairly honest is too high for me. Yet I do want them  So, therefore I am wondering what the pr...

Re: So, (what) will you be buying from the 2007's?
My 2007 VP orders (so far, combined with the ones that my father ordered) are: For me this is quite a lot of bottles VP of one vintage, given the prices and the fact that I'm not drinking VP on a daily basis. On the other hand, my youngest son was born in 2007, so as I am hoping to enjoy a lot of t...

Re: 1997 Rozès LBV unfiltered and Vintage Port
2 years later, still a very nice red colour yet I seem to miss the brown tints.
Smooth drink with a intense black fruit taste and a prickling on the tongue.
Whilst I do like it, I will most certainly open the next bottle only 10yrs from now.

Re: Gilbert's 1937 vintage
It must indeed be a colheita and probably bottled between 1950 and early 60's
The importer "Godard GmbH" was taken over by Bols in 1961.
http://www.uhle1751.de/geschichte.php5
Anyway, sooner or later I will open it and make a nice review

Gilbert's 1937 vintage
Hello All, A while ago I bought a bottle of Gilbert's from the 1937 vintage. At least ... this is what I hope it is. I've searched the internet several times, contacted Gilberts yet did not find/receive any confirmation that Gilbert's did have a 1937 vintage. Is there anyone on :tpf: that can advise...
