1977 Dow's VP
1983 Croft Q da Roeda

Oh right, I also received my 2011 VP's from the UK about 10 days ago :D :D

6x Warre 2011
6x Cockburn's 2011
my 6x Fonseca 2011

Now all I have to do is to pick up my order of Quevedo 2011 when visiting Oscar this summer.

Sounds like a plan!

Please let us know how the Sandeman '45 is holding up. I have a couple, and am planning on opening the first in 2015.

Your self-restraint is quite amazing.
Thanks! That was of course what I was going for 88) . Maybe I should have, in all fairness, added the number of bottles from other producers / vintages that are comsumed annually :)

1987 Calem Foz

1987 Cálem Quinta da Foz VP Probably not the best known house and or Quinta. Nevertheless (in my opinion) an utterly enjoyable VP. Nice and mature at this point. Lovely fruit (a bit jammy), good balance in terms of acidity and sweetness. Tannins and alcohol nicely integrated. I have some bottles le...

Re: Virtual Anniversary - June 20th

JDAWiseman is online, seemingly alone. Unfortunately, Skype isn't working over here (it seems I need to make a new account, for reasons unknown to me), so I won't be online on Skype. I will however, be online over here, and I will be opening a Quevedo Colheita 1992 (the 2009 bottling) in a couple o...

1997 Niepoort VP

It was the first time I've opened such a youngster, because when opening my 6 botle case a couple of days ago to make some more room in my cellar, as bottles take up much less space than when still in the OWC), I found that one of the bottles was showing signs of seepage (and rather a lot of it). So...

But thanks for the tip! I will keep an eye out for an offer from Henri Bloem. I've seen some 2011 VP's from Ton Overma...

Re: Temperature of serving

That's close to what I've always believed, though their recommendation is a little cooler than my preference. I've said for some time that VP is best served just under room temperature - right about 65 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be slightly cool, but not cold. They say 16-18 degrees C. I'd say 1...

Advice on where to order 2011 VP in the UK

As VP is on the expensive side (in absolute terms, not in comparison to the dry reds of this world of course), I would like some insider advice from the UK-based members. What is, on average, the best place to order 2011 VP (en primeur) in the UK? I'm based in The Netherlands, and if I know one thin...
