1985: Nacional, Noval, Warre, Dow, Calem, Royal Oporto …
Saturday 17th March 2007: again chez mon père, a 1985 horizontal, consisting mostly of houses new to me ( paperwork , more fancy-schmancy than that used the previous evening ). Notes are even briefer: my enthusiasm for note-taking had clearly diminished. Present: JDAW MAW RAW APPW JRW RKA JFH MF SRG...

Actually, having this section machine readable would be a great joy in the future. And the time to work on that is now. • As for webmasterlyness, there’s no harm in a standing policy of you changing thread titles to conform to generally-accepted practice. Propose: Title = YYYY House, where House ∈ {...

I recognise that my usual avatar makes me not-a-team-player type person. But, well, I can’t be bothered to locate a cat picture that speaks to me, or of me.

Square parentheses
Or, when deleting one's own stuff, replace it with something like “[Mildly raunchy picture deleted on the suggestion of …]†. And perhaps leave in a link to the picture. And, to be emphatic, there’s nothing wrong with mischief. :-) Back to the main point: when I said My preference would be nothing. ...

Blackberries and avatars

Though you could have tighter size (width≤80, height≤60, bytes≤5k) restrictions. And ban moving avatars, which I think terrible. (Yes, I know I’m alone.)
Also, a thread on this subject on a different BB, FWLIW.

help Blackberry users by not having avatars
Blackberry is a fair comment. But making Blackberry users wait until the thing is loaded, before having to turn the page, is harder on them. Instead have a giant length, so the whole things loads whilst being read.
Another way of helping Blackberry users is not to have avatars.

Decanting through a filter: an experiment
Does decanting through muslin leave a taint of cotton dust? I’m pondering an experiment to be performed on a magnum of Noval 1963. Seal to be photographed and then removed, and the bottle left standing in the cellar. This allows things to settle after the bottle-shaking wax cutting. On tasting day, ...

Turn page at 50, not 15
The phpBB default is that a thread turn the page at 15 posts. Please could that parameter be changed to 50. Fifteen so breaks the continuity of a conversation.

Fantastic idea! Can we each supply our own? Bottled gases, Uruguayan bonds, Pension reform — each to his own alibi.
