Re: Is the secondary market price for Port changing?
I watched the Christie's sale. The prices seemed at times very high, but the wines were originally bought well and stored well, with a long history, which makes them worth a premium. That much premium? Not for some, no. Not for the amended to low shoulder D27. Those bidders were nuts. But for the W6...

Re: ‘Young Harvest’ Port proposals
Why not. Worth a try. The marketing will need to be carefully thought out. There is certainly a market for big Ozzie reds, so young fruity Ports could have significant appeal.

Re: Warre's Sesquarcentennial Tasting - Weds 6th Oct 2021 (date confirmed)
I’m at home with covid. Was meant to be in Portugal — extremely irritated. The NHS instructs that my “ last day of self-isolation is 2 October 2021 ”. If there are any immuno-vulnerable people attending this tasting, such that the 2nd–6th would be too tight for their needs, then I will withdraw. If...

My food order: I'm Coeliac, they ask we flag this up so mine can be as gluten free as possible (they try not to cross contaminate when cooking, and leave such as croutons off) Chapel and Swan oak smoked salmon, horseradish crème fraîche, capers Steak (medium rare), Burton would of course be best, bu...

Re: 1980 Horizontal, 20 October 2021, B&F
I have O80 here, and some more at Seckfords, and my SW80 is also at Seckfords. I have yet to find the O80 here, but am sure it is buried here somewhere. You would think that having slowed my drinking down (a long covid side effect meant wine in particular tasted revolting), that the cellar here woul...

Re: Churchill Crusted Port Tasting 28 July
Crusted is a terrible name and needs working on. Premium Blended Vintage Port, perhaps stating in the blurb on the back which years are blended, might be better?

Disappointing. I bought it retail some 4 or 5 years ago from N.D. John, and it has been kept in our cellar since then. I had expected better.

Re: Y2K Tasting Tuesday 17th March
Certainly I could bring along another time, and will if it seems the best choice but I have another few D2000 so am happy for one to be sacrificed for an enjoyable horizontal. Dow probably should be present. Whatever works best for you all.

Re: Y2K Tasting Tuesday 17th March
Very sorry, I am going to have to drop out. Gone down with some form of lurgy, and prefer not to spread it around. I'm having a rubbish winter with far too little Port consumption.
