1977 Graham

One of two bottles purchased from Sworders this week. Fill level was just below neck. The bottle had been stood for 12 hours prior to an 8 hour decant. On removing the foil there appeared to be what looked like sand around the cork. The cork crumbled on extraction. It is a dark red, perhaps similar ...

Quinta do Vesuvio Box Vertical, 13th FEB 2019

May I be first reserve? (Completely understand if others from the planned Cachao should go before me)

1970 Taylor

From a collection bought in 2013, bottle 2 of 6. This was bottled by Dienhard (sp) and was without label. I was forced to open this owing to a seeping cork - they was a residue akin to honey around top of the bottle. It was stood for 7 days before being opened and decanted for 8 hours prior to drink...

A fairly simple one without wanting to go 'overboard'.

Re: 1994; Where's the value?

Looking through some the old tasting notes on the site, Croft appear to have delivered a solid effort in 1994.

Re: Latest buy

6 x Vesuvio 1994. Purchased on BBX for £260 IB. I fear I paid slightly over the 'going rate' but when reviewing my cellar inventory I paid £225 for 6 in 2010.

Re: Latest buy

The only time I've had the Fonseca QdP 1986 was at the East India Club, London in 2006. It had those labels too. I remember it was drinking rather well then so possibly one to drink up over these next few years.

I can confirm attendance. Food wise may I order the salmon followed by steak M/R? Vintage TBC tomorrow when I arrive home, if that's too late let me know.

Happy Birthday Derek!

May I tentatively reserve a place (dependent on leave and house move plans)? I shall know for certain on Friday/Saturday whether I can attend, menu requirements and vintage selection.

Re: Tuesday 27th Oct 2015 - an emergency

Apologies for the delayed response. I enjoyed myself immensely at this tasting and it was great to catch up with all. There were some lovely wines present that evening and I am keen to find more Offley 1983 as I felt it had a few more decades of potential. Many thanks to CPR and AHB for bringing som...

Re: Tuesday 27th Oct 2015 - an emergency?

May I take a place if there is space? I'll be flying down from Scotland that day so if anybody attending has anything to offer for adoption that would be much appreciated. If not i'm sure I can find something.
