Re: Port for sale by retailer

The Sampler’s stock now includes QH83 as well, albeit at a less tasty £49.99 a bottle.

Re: 1994 Graham

Graham’s 1994: decanted 9:45am. At D+0 back-purple, but not maximum opacity say 75%ile. Very closed nose, making me pleased with the decision to decant early. To taste initial astringent tannins, then sweetness and good length. Will be better later today.

Any objection to 10 hours decanting for the G94, and 6 hours for each of the G85 and G70?

‟Take him over the costard with the hilts of thy sword, and then we will chop him in the malmsey-butt in the next room.” from Richard III.

But the story of the 1st Duke of Clarence is apocryphal. Eric Hobsbawm would be proud.

Re: VP Declarations

No.

How many names cover the range 1900 to present?
How many 1800 to present?
How many stop before, say, 1950? 1900?

Don’t answer now. Wait until the data is done, or almost so, and then I’ll play.

Re: So, err, what's the best shipper, eh?

A rectangular tasting of {Fonseca, Taylor, Graham, Dow}×{1955, 1963, 1966, 1970, 1977} would be twenty bottles, without the rarity price of Nacional. Very fine indeed.

As a warm-up, just for practice, how about a 1955 horizontal?

Also, what time do event start? (I will arrive an hour early, to help.)

1986 Delaforce Colheita

On my return to New York a present awaited me: a 6cl sample of 1986 Delaforce colheita. My wife had opened the package and discarded the wrapping, so I not know who sent it. But whoever did, thank you. Please claim some gratitude in this thread. Classic tawny orange-brown. Nosing of orange, wood, an...

Re: Concerts/Gigs/Shows

Commendation to your son. But also advice: many people fancy a pretty girl whose face appears in the press. There will be much competition per unit delight (i.e., prettiness good; ‟appears in press” makes much work per unit prettiness). Hunt elsewhere. Good luck.

I question the wisdom of your saying these things in this public forum, but congratulations nonetheless.

Also, I think it bad public policy for people to celebrate marriage with Messias and divorce with Dow. It would create bad incentives.
