Is it really Indonesian or was it invented in a curry house in Chiping Norton and then accepted by the culinary-challenged British public as authentic?

Derek

PS: Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Glasgow - honest :?

I love peanut butter. I have at least three jars on the go at once - crunchy, smooth and super smooth. I sometimes have an extra-crunchy as well. I use smooth for making satay sauce. This is off-topic, isn't it? What is satay sauce ? It is a sauce made with peanuts that is used to marinade c...

Alex, Yes, I think bottle stink could have been the problem. The bottle of this that we shared at the Crusting Pipe could also have suffered from this same thing but I did not taste or smell it when I decanted it the night before the offline. It will be interesting to see if Tom gets the same thing ...

The Colour Purple

Sorry for the old film reference  I would be interested to know how much stock others put in the colour of VP. It is one of my top 3 considerations when evluating a VP. I am a visual person and like attrative things. Which does not explain why I am friends with Conky. The Croft 1975 that I hav...

I started out tonight believing that I would be adding to this thread tomorrow. But is not possible to add to a TN without something to T  This is great juice. Forget all that corky stuff, no evidence of it now and just very, very good VP. Tom, you had better lock this stuff away the next time...

Re: non-obvious characters

Who can describe the roles of ' " ‘ ’ “ † ′ ″ â€Å¡ â€Å¾ ? (Other than me.) Does the long silence mean that even AHB has conceded? It may do, but what they all mean is that someone said something. That something being contained within the appropriate ' " ‘ ’ “ † ′ ″ â€Å¡ or â€Å¾ Derek

A lesson learned. Abrieviations and apostrophies combined are very confusing to me. Why? Who knows, and, quite frankly, who cares?

I like learning. And this is learning.

This is a new experience for me. The third night and I still have more than half a bottle sitting in front of me  Is it possible that I am working harder than Ghandih ? The thing that has struck me more than anything else about this wine is the colour. Gorgeous. Cardboard corkiness - go...

Jdaw,

Sorry to re-open a painful wound but please advise: does this require decanting before I arrive if we are to taste in advance of the F-Plan?

I need to wait until I get home but I think I have an Unfiltered Kopke LBV 1982. There is also the issue of pre 1970 VP bottlings to consider here. It was not uncommon for VP shipped in cask to be bottled late and still sold as VP. These were really the first traditional LBVs to be released, even th...

If it tastes like PX, keep it for the next time you have a bad cough. Its much cheaper than Benalin!

I may be earlier than 4pm. Depends on state of speaking-with-the-Mrs-ness.

Earlier means bad news. Expect me to be there before jdaw!

Whatever happens, please remember that Sercial 40 arrives with me.

Ghandih, let's not talk about work schedules.

I have now taken ownership of 5 Cohiba (Siglo II) cigars.

Each cigar comes in its own little yellow box made from recycled cardboard. These must therefore be environmentally friendly cigars 88)

The girth:length ratio looks reasonable to me.

I would post a photo of them if I had a camera.
