Re: Glass Opacity

We could build a database of total weight and fill on opening. I think some of us already weigh bottles - perhaps this gives a start?

Mine decanted at 0800. So far so good. Always worry about TCA (as I can't really taste it) but smelled fruity enough. A little bite of acidity which I hope will integrate.

I didn't buy these. Dominic's suggested price of £80 per bottle was rather more than my estimate of fair value.

I'm probably interested. Could you indicate the fill levels in the bottles please? I assume you have read the "Standard advice on would-be vendors" and hence have an approximate price in mind?

I have sent you a PM

Taylor 66 can be a lovely bottle of port. Good vintage and good shipper. To help with a better answer though, approximately where do you live, and in which part of your house were the wine rack and bottle of port?

(19/20)^20 is ~36% chance that the bottle is still clean after 19 recorkings (20 total counting the original cork) So how does that equate to the original assertion that re-corking a bottle once doubles the chances of it being corked? Round 1. 20 good bottles + 19 good corks + 1 tainted cork gives ...
