Is anyone aware of a possibility to have a cheap subscription on WS in Europe?
I personally find the price difference with the US ridiculous (50$ vs 150$ annually) and rather spend that difference on port

Feel free to post a picture of the exciting neck tag. Without seeing the bottle described above, I assume it is the same tag as on the below link: http://verzamelen.marktplaats.nl/flessen-en-wijnen/336038506-wijn-vintage-port-1970-borges-irmao-goed-jaar.html?action=bidPlacedOkNewUser&bid_id=295...

Re: Summer offline in The Netherlands?
Hi all,
Considering that this tasting is only 40kms from home, I would (depending on the exact date and if Joost still has place available) like to join as well.
Similar to Gerwin, my port stock is still rather small but depending on the theme, I might find something interesting

Hi Axel,
Looking at the above responses it seems I missed a great event due to my flu
I surely hope that 2008 will be declared as well and that I can join next time!

Dries

Gentleman, One of my strange habits is to buy domains and sell them with profit. Obviously this profit is then invested in port and other wine :) A while ago, I did some checks and found vintageport.info as available domain. I blocked it until I would figure out what to do with it. Now I realised th...

Thanks for this info Ronnie. I'll give it a try!RonnieRoots wrote:Hi Dries,
Fabelhaft is a very decent wine. In the Netherlands it is known as 'Gestolen Fiets' and it usually sells just under 10 euro a bottle. It is widely available (I believe all Henri Bloem stores have it in stock).

Hello Steve and welcome to the forum! I'm also no expert but checked your bottle on http://www.wine-searcher.com and did find some results. The bottle seems to be worth between 300 and 500 EURO depanding on the condition. This website has some for sale: http://www.wyliefinewines.co.uk/wines/port1939...

Let's check your historical and geographical knowledge:
In which town did I grew up?
1st hint: It is one of the former capitals of the so called "Low Countries".

Julian, The famous restaurant "La Tour D'argent" seems to sell port under their own name. (http://www.tourdargent.com/) Surely there must be some nice port hiding in their cellars (contains +400000 bottles). They recently discovered a few bottles of Cognac from 1788  Did you try thi...
