Pale version to be used as a background, so should be only slightly different from white.

Please could you ensure that the stylesheets are refreshed. Please click refresh, shift-refresh, or whatever it is on IE that forces it to completely reload.

The Port Forum Olympics

Which suggests The Port Forum Olympics, for which I have a first draft of a handy logo.

Re: Beijing 2008

Somebody should mention that we’re up for bronze. The BBC medals table shows the winners being — surprise! — non-Taipei China (they do have the most people); second being USA (having most money, albeit by a smaller margin than previously); and third place, with sixteen golds, the UK (perhaps becau...

Re: What colour is tawny?

After much experimentation (since the colors look different here than they do on your "web safe colors" page), the best I can do is ••• #CC3300 ••• which isn't that far off of Derek's second. Do we have to use multiples of 3, or would something like ••• #EE5522 ••• work? Yes, I’m arbitrar...

What colour is tawny?

Tawny port covers a range of pleasures and sins (not mutually exclusive). Nonetheless, for the purposes of designing the style for :TPF: a non- VP secondary colour is needed, a secondary colour that ought to go by the name “tawny†. Currently I am using ••• #CC9933 ••• as tawny. But DRT insists on c...

Re: New Style

The new theme is great; I like it a lot and anyone on ProSilver should switch. Well, thank you kindly. I do wonder whether the header might change, though. To my eyes, it might look better if either the logo (or, if not the whole logo, just the letters) were re-drawn so it appeared smooth at a larg...

Re: Fun fact in Port History

Do you know why the sugar in Port is mostly glucose? A look on the internet suggests both non-fortifed wines and grapes contain, very roughly speaking, equal quantities of both. An explanation, that I am inventing and for which I have no independent evidence, could be that fructose decays slowly in...

No! NO! Drying racks leave water stains. You must, like absolutely by-Royal-Command must, dry with a clean cloth. Though, as Roy rightly says, when sober.

Or at least photo thereof.

The idea of carrying round the Douro a decanter that I know to be faulty has, at best, little appeal. Let me see what comes — if great, yes. If not, I’ll share photos and we can proceed to version 2.
