Re: Portweinmesse 26 November 2021

Given the proximity of this event to my brother's family, I'm interested in attending (he's based in Pulheim). There seems to be limited information on the website, but I'll certainly keep an eye on this thread. More than welcome, but do not plan to go there by car afterwards as we will have a comm...

Re: Something to taste?

Dear Sten, this is a great collection of Port that you and your family has consumed over the years. You are correct. It is not the same via zoom. Even if we could manage to share samples of the same bottles amongst friends. So, lets cross fingers for better times to come. Everyone with a solid (Port...

The Queen's cellar

dolls-house-1-700x5118.jpg I guess all UK based readers already know about the curiosity of the dollhouse in Windsor castle, which was manufactured for Queen Mary 1924. What you might not know is that the Berry Brothers supplied the wine-cellar for the dollhouse. There are some 1.200 bottles with o...

Re: Latest buy

Bought some of the Confraria Vintage Port bottles. I guess I am one of the few having had a vertical tasting of these. Quite nice after 2000.

Hope, everyone who was offered, bought some:

Re: Coravin

I was sent a Coravin system some time ago and am also 100% converted. Great invention. Yes, I am not using this on a Fonseca 1948 and yes, I do not put my bottles back to the cellar, but drink them over time or give them away to be enjoyed by other persons. I also think the Vintage needle is not gre...

The Fonseca Guimaraens would be my recommendation. Great wine. Could have made it easily to a full declaration. Best FG since 1976!

Re: Wednesday 24th February 2021 - Online Churchill tasting with the Port Forum

Will be on. I have fairly all Churchill Vintage Ports at hand and surprisingly the Rio 2002 is drinking fantastically well now.

Please add me, Alex.

However since 94 is 94 this might be my choice - or both.

The Club 2009 is also on my death row.

Best wishes

Re: André Ribeirinho 100 Best Portuguese Wines

I do know Andre very well. He is a great guy and a fantastic promoter for Portuguese wines.

However we should have invited him more to Portforum tastings as this would have changed his list quite a bit, I blieve.

Happy new year to all

Re: The terrible year 2020

Dear Sten, Stefan and Jorgen. Wow, this is a great achievement. I have managed to drink something from 1970 every week and had a champagne sunday every second week, where we had many surprises (just between 4 persons and 2 bottles of champange every time - at least vintage champange). The best thing...

Thanks, everyone. My first link actually got me to teams. Thats why it took me some time to figure out the correct link, but Alex was very helpful as usual. You can see the "Portbeer" here. The one in the middle is actually a blend of German Hefeweizen and Martha's Ruby Port, whereas the t...

Hi Guys, could the participants of this tasting with some experience of the wines tell me how the 85 and 70 were from the smaller bottles?

Thanks in advance
