Cancelled: Ɇmɇɍǥɇnȼɏ, Møn ƻ9 ɈȺn ƻØƻ4

I’m thirsty. It is an emergency. Monday 29th January 2024. You know the drill. Location: assume The Boot & Flogger , which I haven’t yet booked. Theme: bring either • a SQVP, at least fifteen years old, so vintage ≤2009; or • something else. A quorum shall be three. Thou mayest count five.

Should we be thinking about a 1945 @ 80 tasting next year?
Do we have sufficient bottles?
Would it be prohibitively expensive?
Full event for 14 or smaller event?
FYI.

My earlier sloppiness — I’m sorry. Really, this wasn’t a “foreigner” thing.

Likewise, I’ll concede to those who had booked flights in good faith.

• Bramdean pudding.

For the old tasting I still have a Warre 1982 ʟʙᴠ; for the younger tasting I have some of the (very excellent) Crasto 2015 ʟʙᴠ.

Re: Thoughts on LBVs

The Rozès 2013 ʟʙᴠ was slightly green; the Rz11ʟʙᴠ was soft in a way that was slightly flabby; the Rz09ʟʙᴠ was stunningly-good top-rank with slightly-Tayloresque presence and grit, and would have benefitted from more cellar time.

Re: Thoughts on LBVs

I'm thinking we should have a tasting event for aspiring LBV producers, from Barao de Vilar to Pacheca to Tecedeiras to Vista Alegre - maybe two dozen bottles, chosen for being less well known and shipped with driven corks. And for being available in the UK at a sensible price. I’m going to want bo...

I entirely agree with your suggestion. Indeed it is a brilliant plan — magnum split three ways (gently, splash and shake, aerated). Please be encouraged to organise the tasting at which you have subtly hinted.
