1. Reply notifications currently come from what appears to be Alex K’s real human email address. They should actually come from something that doesn’t mention a human’s name.
2. Is it possible to be notified automatically of new threads? That facility would keep things moving nicely.

Present were myself and the missus, and friends BAW ODM TZ SGO'S and RO'S; the first of these bringing some fines cheeses. All were decanted at about 3pm through musl...

1985: Nacional, Noval, Warre, Dow, Calem, Royal Oporto …
Saturday 17th March 2007: again chez mon père, a 1985 horizontal, consisting mostly of houses new to me ( paperwork , more fancy-schmancy than that used the previous evening ). Notes are even briefer: my enthusiasm for note-taking had clearly diminished. Present: JDAW MAW RAW APPW JRW RKA JFH MF SRG...

Or, when deleting one's own stuff, replace it with something like “[Mildly raunchy picture deleted on the suggestion of …]†. And perhaps leave in a link to the picture. Though you could have tighter size (width≤80, height≤60, bytes≤5k) restrictions. And ban moving avatars, which I think terrible. (Yes, I know I’m alone.)

help Blackberry users by not having avatars
Blackberry is a fair comment. But making Blackberry users wait until the thing is loaded, before having to turn the page, is harder on them. Instead have a giant length, so the whole things loads whilst being read.
Another way of helping Blackberry users is not to have avatars.

Decanting through a filter: an experiment
Does decanting through muslin leave a taint of cotton dust? I’m pondering an experiment to be performed on a magnum of Noval 1963. Seal to be photographed and then removed, and the bottle left standing in the cellar. This allows things to settle after the bottle-shaking wax cutting. On tasting day, ...
