Older bottles tend to only get opened when I am with other port appreciaters so that they don't get wasted. I can testify that it is possible not to waste a bottle of old port without other port appreciaters in attendance   Derek PS: AHB, do I have to mention the words "Quinta do No...

I think that the purpose of posting a question or observation here or anywhere else should be to stimulate debate in the place where you post it. Not everyone will be a member of all sites so I think it's important to have separate debates, albeit with referencial links.

Great stuff, these are the things we need to know. So, should everyone put Vintage Port in their signature to ensure it appears at least once in every post? Another question is - do you get a premium "hit" if these key words or phrases are found on the home page? If so, perhaps we need to ...

OK - serious question The above examples prove that google is registering these commonly occuring phrases when it crawls over the site. Our objective is to ensure google picks up "Vintage Port" and/or other phrases as many times as it takes to bump us up the pecking order. Does anyone know...

Are we set on the 19th? I need to know so that I can arrange meetings etc

18th would be better for me if AHB doesn't manage to blag tickets to the Rounders match but if 19th suits others then I can probably make that happen.

AHB,

I have been putting descriptors in the title - "Vintage Port" or "LBV" etc

On scores, I would say do whatever you like but keep them to the end of the note in the format or formats shown by jdaw above.

In that case, I'm with you on this. However, I wonder if the logic behind them not doing this has more to do with marketing. If we take a stellar year, like 1994, would they have shifted all their blend VP at the same price they achieved if there had been a little brother SQVP at 1/3rd of the price ...

Cant argue. But its not a cheap alternative, is it. It can be, I bought a 6 pack of the 1987 for less than £20 per bottle. The 87 is, I'm told, a truely great VP so at this price I consider it a steal. If you compare that with any declared Taylor's VP you will find a price gap of ast least £30 per ...
