Companhia Uniao dos Vinhos do Porto e Madeira Lda?

In 1989 a company named Companhia Uniao dos Vinhos do Porto e Madeira Lda, owned by Grand Cruz, made five different vintages: Aguila, Cabraco, Calvares, Dom Joaquim and Magales. As far as I know these brands has never been used again since then. Does anybody know why?

Re: Vintage Port by retailer in London

We were very glad to visit tpf tasting in London on May 8 and TBFT on the 9th. However, finding vintage port in London proved to be much more difficult than expected. Non of the major wine stores (nor minor) had any interesting vintages. If they had any at all it was 2-3 very common wines such as Ma...

Re: 1994; Where's the value?

I believe 1970 is a much better year than 1994. In 1970 almost all producers has made good port while in 1994 there are several that are not performing.

Re: 1994; Where's the value?

Just to keep in mind when buying 1994: this is a year that is not at all, as you might think, generally good. The best producers perform very well, but there are a lot of producers that do not deliver good quality. Top 10 or so are good, the rest is not, in my experience. Which have you found good,...

Re: Warm-up for the BFT: Something nice from the 60s

We are flying in from Sweden on the morning of the tasting. We think it might be better to decant in the morning before the flight rather than mixing the sediment during the flight. We will bring the original bottle in any case. Does any of you have experience on what would be the best option?

Re: Graham's Malvedos 1968

As suggested earlier in this thread- the Malvados 1968 is probably good and has a market value. I would say that it's value might be up to 80-100 GBP if you can find the right buyer. If you sell it at auction you should expect to get half of that value. The LBV's are much less valued as they are int...

Re: Vintage Port by retailer in London

I'm looking for something we haven't tasted before I picked up sixty bottles of Passadouro '92 from Christies just before Xmas. This is one of the ones made by Niepoort. I wasn't planning to go for them, but the price was too good to pass on. As I don't need that many, I'm happy to part with up to ...
