Re: 1993 Querbach, Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Spatlese Halbtrocken
10% opacity, straw yellow. Melon, lychee on the nose. Fresh with gentle citrus in the mouth, lemon. Was perhaps not expected to be alive, yet proved otherwise - balanced and refreshing, but only for 60 minutes, after which fell apart somewhat.

45% opacity, red-brown. Nose has sweetness, molasses, and loose tea leaves. In the mouth, molasses, leather and tea. Just a touch on the flabby side, acidity fading a little.

No note taken, but this was as would be expected! Sweet and gloopy. Vanilla ice cream was ordered for dessert...

70% opacity, deep garnet. Nose is lively with red fruit. The promise made by the deep colour and lively nose was broken however - faint red fruit on the palate, but lacking structure and backbone. Nevertheless a fair accompaniment to the steak.

65% opacity, brick red, slightly dull. Lovely red fruit nose, floral notes, leather and tea. Only just still alive, quite thin, fruit faded, structure not there.

35% opacity, amber. Rich, nutty, with a flat grittiness. That made sense whaen I wrote it...not sure i can explain though! George said "umami", which makes sense.

45% opacity, dark copper. Tart orange fruit on the nose. Lively acidity, oranges, and dry. Punchy - a little bit overpowered even.

Re: NV Calem 30YO
40% opacity, toffee amber. Lovely warm rounded nose with lots of honeycomb, cedar, almonds. Very smooth in the mouth, honeycomb and almonds again. Very enjoyable. Noticeably different to the other two 30YO on parade at this event, the Dow 30YO and the San Leonardo 30YO.

Re: 1993 Barros LBV
45% opacity, dull brick red. Nose has soft, sweet cherries, some dustiness. MId-weight, faint tannins, gentle heat, a little cherry fruit still there. Not stellar port, but pretty good for a year that was a complete howler.

I think also 3/10, but maybe 4/10. Six answers were not quite stabs in the dark, but some could be out by a century or more

Interesting that you’ve noted this. Was chatting with a friend earlier in the week, musing about liquidity issues potentially drivin...

Confirming attendance. I think there have been a lot more bottle offers than those you’ve listed - see top post.
Can I bring the Cr00? Reluctant to take another Cr66 from the same tranche the bottle for the recent ‘66 vertical came from, as that one seemed overly mature.

Bit funky this one. Had I opened it on its own with some cheese, I would have seen it off. Something in the taste profile was just not quite right.

Very slight TCA hint, which has held back an otherwise lovely port.
