Re: Aged LBVs - Tue 5 March 2024 @ B&F - ALIVE AGAIN!
Placemats updated.
My preference would be not to Audouze, but to open and decant on the morning. Is there an official decanting request?

Re: Aged LBVs - Tue 5 March 2024 @ B&F - ALIVE AGAIN!
Yes, and no. Somehow the 1986 has been ‘stolen’, so I am bringing for me and for BP adoption, the 1981 and 1982. (The 1984 has not been stolen, but has been promised to Harry, so off-limits.)

Re: Aged LBVs - Tue 5 March 2024 @ B&F - ALIVE AGAIN!
Placemats: please could the organiser select which of the offered Ports are to be tasted. Placemats are traditionally slightly traditional, in that they at least echo previous precedent for the theme. So: Jan 2021 — could reuse the font /GothamNarrow-Bold ; Mar 2018 — not much liked; Apr 2013 — inco...

Not sure if this post is allowed Definitely allowed. As a better fit to Port Conversations , moved to there. Been collecting the 1992 vintages for a while now and have bought multiple bottles of all but one of the declared 1992's. For a tasting somewhere in the future, Good work. Here you will fit ...

Hence they need separate voting pages. Cliff has revealed four of each; Alex has told me that his is fortified; and I reveal likewise. These implemented (see first post): others welcome to reveal their fortifiedness, or not.

Re: Is 30yo VP darker than it used to be?
Some juicy bits in this. As an answer to the original post, my favourites: the desire to select a small number of grape varieties (5-6), and chosen for their contribution of colour. I have no doubt at all that de-stemming and taking out the stalks from a fermentation makes a fundamental change in th...

Re: 1977's - June 11th 2024
I have few ’77s; CEM has many, and also I have drunk very well from from CEM’s cellar. So the fair thing is to move me to first reserve, thus promoting CEM into the fourteenth seat. Yes please, I have 'some' of this vintage and can help with adoption if needed Translation: ‘some’ = approximately eve...

Is 30yo VP darker than it used to be?
Is 30-year-old Vintage Port darker than it used to be? At yesterday’s Vesuvio tasting , the early 1990s VPs were dark. As best I can recall, 1963s were definitely paler than that in the early 1990s, and near the turn of the millennium 1970s were definitely paler than that. This observation is not sp...
