Re: One quiz at a time

I've written tasting notes on just under 4,600 different bottles of port. In that time I have only given two ports a perfect score, considering the wine I drank to be impossible to be bettered. They were the two tasting notes Old Bridge has identified. Both were just astonishing. The 1963 Nacional ...

The other could be: 1963 Quinta do Noval Nacional vintage port. Truly a phenomenal port. 100/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.

For me this is not easily understandable, and maybe not even guessable, in fact it seems like meaningless drivel.

Vintage Port quantities produced each year from 1960's until today?

I am trying to find out how much VP were produced in the years that are now ready to drink, but am stumped. Google seems to offer no help, or maybe I am asking the wrong questions.
Do anyone on the :tpf: forum know where to find such data? :?:

Cohiba Limited edition 2006. 67 minutes of sheer pleasure. A gift from a very good friend some years ago. It has languished in my humidor just waiting for me starting my holidays 2017, and tonight it was finally put out of its misery. Joined by a small glass of Highland Park NAS Cs on the terrace, ...

I think T09 has the potential to be one of those VPs that emerges as a true classic. It is an exceptionally dark and intense wine.
Thank you, uncle tom.

Planning a big party for 2109?

I'm quietly confident that the '09s (and the Taylor in particular) have the depth and integrity to show very well, come their centenary..
A bit OT, but do you think T09 will outlive T11?

ps. Winesearcher seems to think so by a fair bit.

Re: The Port Forum Babies and their Vintages

For the grandson, 2013, I bought 6 bottles of Quinta do Vesuvio, but the Norwegian Wine Monopoly (allways capital letters, in reverence) sent me single bottles. I contacted the importer about the possibility of getting a wooden case for them, and this september he emailed that he had it. When I went...

Yesterday I opened a bottle of Cálem Vintage Port 1985, and tonight I am finishing it off.
A very nice port, and that is a pleasant thought when it is the most abundant VP in my cellar.

Cálem Vintage Port 1985, just decanted, and the glass is very black. I can however see the light from a torch through the neck.
