Re: Thu 15 Feb 2018, at the B&F: Mr. Wolfgang Starz

Thank you all for the great evening! Having now become a British citizen I am looking forward to many more tastings. Also our experiment with the extra ordering of the Steaks paid off. I think we should do this again. Despite the Steaks were always good at the B&F this was a step up worth paying...

Re: 1960 Fonseca

I think to say the F60 needs drinking up is not correct as it is currently in such a nice "plateau" for drinking. Despite I agree taste wise it will not improve from here and it is in comparison to the 63, 66 and 70 a bit lighter in structure and finish in terms of complexity and fragrance...

Re: 1963 Fonseca

The F63 improved throughout the evening which indicates the port should have been opened and decanted much earlier. Aside the quite closed up and therefore restrained mouthfeel the excellent structure, complexity and flavor profile shows through. Ripe Cherry and spice flavors that make the port very...

Re: 1966 Fonseca

The decant time was 4:30 AM after being opened the night before at 9:30PM. On your observation "a touch hollow mid-palate" I could agree with but I consider this rather a strength given it is still a port which is far to young. If I had not opened it so early you would have tasted rough ed...

Re: Tue 13 Feb 2018: Mr. Wolfgang Stars

It is with deep regret that I must decline to add my name to those inviting Mr Wolfgang Starz to celebrate his becoming a subject of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This is partly due to the fact that my principles to do not allow me, in all good conscience, to celebrate a free man giving up his fr...

With regards to the Port fit for a Queen's new subject tasting what about Tuesday the 13th of February? I have the citizenship ceremony on Monday the 12th so that date could fit nicely.
