Re: Tues 5 May, The Best of the Fonseca Bicentennial Tasting

No grilled tomato with my main thanks; unless you have deliberately left it on because we are all giving Derek or Julian extra vegetables. Please may I be seated within grilled-tomato-passing distance of Phil. Ah, the cut and paste demolished the strikethrough. The grilled tomato will find a worthy...

Re: Tues 5 May, The Best of the Fonseca Bicentennial Tasting

Looking at Winesearcher, both Christopher Keiller and The Four Walls Wine Company are offering F80. Both sites have a list that is almost identical, so perhaps they are in some way related businesses. Has anyone purchased from these places before? It looks like it would be £50-60 incl delivery - for...

Ignored. Draft placemats added to the first post.
Great stuff - thank you. I think Derek is also bringing an additional 70, but let's leave the placemat update until nearer the time once all the bottles are sorted.

The venue is now booked - the B&F. The time has come to supply your choices for dinner. The menu can be found here. Please post your order in this thread.

Re: Tues 5 May, The Best of the Fonseca Bicentennial Tasting

Any ideas who we could invite from the industry? Always likely they will have things lined up before the BFT of course. Perhaps Dirk? I don't have his contact details - could someone else ask the question?

Re: Tues 5 May, The Best of the Fonseca Bicentennial Tasting

I'd be surprised if Nic k olls & Perks actually have it in stock yet. I could very well be wrong. At first I received a message to say they had stocked out, then they confirmed more were on the way and they could indeed fulfil the order. A case of each arrived on Friday. Each, being the Bicente...

Re: Software that makes placemats

For me, no. Firmly not. The glasses sheets end up firmly established in place and are ever accessible, and so I can always record water consumption. Tasting note pages get rotated around, moved about etc. Your proposition that glasses sheets are to be seen is false. They are free to be annotated and...

I think it would be interesting to try some of the majors side by side and blind from 66, 70 and 77 - perhaps Graham, Fonseca and Taylor. A nine bottle line-up. If there was strong interest, it could become a 12 bottle line-up adding say Niepoort? FYI, Tue 11 Oct 2011, {D, F, G, T}×{’63, ’66, ’70, ...
