Hi Tom

I think I volunteered some time ago to bring Sandeman. Can you confirm that this is still needed?
Looking forward to the event.

Re: A Colheita/Aged Tawny 2016 Tasting in London

Hi - please count me for the event. Most shippers tend to show their 20 year olds at events so my preference would be to look at some of the aged colheitas and perhaps the special editions that have become popular with shippers. I have a few that have been given to me over the past few years so I ca...

Re: 1985 horizontal: Wed 25th Nov 2015, B&F

Mayday, mayday, we have a problem! Whilst I have the W85 try as I might I have not been able to locate the bottle of SW85 that I'd swear I have somewhere. My apologies for this- I can offer a likely poor substitute in the form of Harvey's 85 but is anyone able to plug the gap left by my poor cellar...

1965 Graham's Malvedos

Image of the Malvedos 65 released today.
I tasted this at the BFT and it has been a long wait. Personally, I think they have made a good job of the presentation.

Press release - for the CK77 1977 Vintage Port Bicentenary Limited Edition Following the acquisition of Cockburn’s in 2006, the Symington family were surprised to find 116 cases of 1977 Vintage Port in a corner of the company’s cellars. Cockburn’s famously did not ‘declare’ a 1977 Vintage, although ...

I have asked fells for a press release.
A little more info - Quantities are tiny - The RSP for Ck77 is £75 (I assume that this is VAT inclusive).

They also asked some people associated with Taylors to contribute - I have already asked for these from Mentzendorff . If I can get permission to publish (I don't see that it would be a problem) I will put a link in to them.

Also, please contribute to the draft of the food order by posting your desires † in this thread, ideally after perusing the menu of the Boot & Flogge...

Re: Tues 5 May, The Best of the Fonseca Bicentennial Tasting

Looking forward to this.
F63 and F75 decanted 10am both bottles had level in neck and no seepage - Note f63 is EB unknown shipper. Everything seems ok. Cork on f63 put up a little resistance and was somewhat damaged (my heavy handedness not the fault of the cork). I should be there about 6:15

Re: Port for sale at auction

I think the other 2 were w70 and Churchill 85 - I had stepped out at that point, but hope you got them.

Overall impression was that some lots were going at reasonable prices in this one - I picked up F63 (UKB) and T94.

Re: Port for sale at auction

Straker April 2014

Hi I spoke to some folks at the BFT who were thinking of bidding on some lots - if I remember correctly

Lot 282 F77 went at 780 to commission
Lot 313 ck67 went at 405 to a room bidder

I'll keep adding as the auction progresses.

Yes - I tend to think of it as a mechanism to extend my port collection. I started it about 5-6 years ago as a hobby and it sort of picked up from there. Happy to talk about it offline but I am on here in very much a personal capacity.
