The only identifying mark is what remains of the number 10 to the right of the cap-seal, in worn orange-red wax - assumption is a 1910 Vintage Port. In the absence of jdaw 's new book, can anybody identify further??? I have...

I have added your name to the reserve list and will contact you if a space becomes available. Unfortunately that is unlikely as there are four others in front of you in the list.

I think we should celebrate the launch of the book with an offline. I will choose a date and start a thread to that effect. Keep an eye on the events forum later this weekend...
Hopefully the offline will not be "ten years in the making"

Gentlemen, I sent a request to each of you who need to make a financial contribution a few days ago. So far only Dave and Phil have paid and Axel has responded and an arrangement has been agreed. Thank you Dave, Phil and Axel. I have had no response from anyone else despite the fact that all but one...

Re: Bad News if You're Shipping Port in the EU

I wonder what the visitors' centres in VnG and the Douro are doing about this? For a long time they have been able to sell bottles and ship them to the purchaser's home address to avoid them having to carry them home.

Is this good tax control or regulation gone mad?

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

All attendees should now have a PM from me detailing which bottles and/or how many pounds are needed to bring this together.

Please action soon as I want those who are donating expensive bottles to receive the appropriate funds prior to the tasting.

Thanks.

More anniversaries?

You have two choices: wait around for 12 months until the next one comes around or marry more wives.

One of these options is much safer than the other

Thanks, Tom

One 1975 back in the line-up.

I had inadvertently left the cost of a 1975 in my spreadsheet so the cost per person remains at £213 with the 1975 back in.

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

it seems likely that between us we may have more than a couple of bottles of Ck75, which if so would mean we could still include this vintage in the vertical without forgoing the future experiment. If someone has a single 1975 that they can donate please send me a note of the price and we can inclu...

In 1989 a company named Companhia Uniao dos Vinhos do Porto e Madeira Lda, owned by Grand Cruz, made five different vintages: Aguila, Cabraco, Calvares, Dom Joaquim and Magales. As far as I know these brands has never been used again since then. Does anybody know why? Do you know for sure that they...
