Re: RE: Taylor's LBV
I noticed that my rank is "Taylor’s LBV". This status impels me to write about my last tasting. We had a tasting at a port wine friend who offered us a spectacular and surprising tasting of Taylor's LBV. We are devoted Vintage lovers but this LBV tasting showed some surprising longevity of some LBV...

I could also be at the B&F around 4pm, or perhaps a little earlier if better.

Excellent evening, theme and company. Thanks. All the ports were very enjoyable, and they were really able to shine when not in the shadow of any top VPs.
Nice to finally get the better of the monkey with a couple of lucky guesses, but I'm sure it will be back to its winning ways next time.

I am afraid that if the NN is included then KMH and I will have to withdraw on the grounds of cost....sorry . :( Then I’d like to change my vote and now also vote against the inclusion of the NN. I don’t want anyone to be excluded from a tasting on the grounds of cost. There will be other times whe...

Re: 1960 Fonseca
Mature, balanced, rich and fruity, some heat. A little light, and a shade behind the very good 63 and exceptional 66, but drinking very well indeed. I also can't see it improving from here, but I think it will be very enjoyable for a good few years yet.

Re: 1994 Tesco
Thanks for the photos. A mystery. The cork being more red at one end does seem to indicate that it was used as a stopper, so Warre 94 seems quite likely. I wonder if a few Warre 94 were used to make up the quantities that Tesco needed, and you got lucky. It seems unlikely all Tesco 94 would be Warre...

Re: 1994 Tesco
What does the cork look like? Is it possible to tell whether it has been in the bottle for 20 years or only a few. It is odd to find a spare cork. I suppose it is possible that when recorking for Tesco the cork was accidentally pushed in.

Re: Latest buy
Half a case of 77 Quarles Harris. Jancis rates it. :D A very good choice. It was good at the 77 horizontal in December. I very nearly gave it a point, but thought the Taylor edged it on potential which was perhaps unfair to the QH. Probably label bias. I have also just acquired some Quarles Harris ...

That is both very surprising and excellent news. Good find, well done. Tesco 94 can't really be W94 though, can it? I wonder what the Tesco 97 is.

Re: Thu 15 Feb 2018, at the B&F: Mr. Wolfgang Starz
A very good evening indeed. Thank you. Fine steaks and an excellent line up that lived up to its promise. I agree that the 70s could have been decanted earlier as they got better as the night wore on. F66 head and shoulders above the rest for me, fantastic bottle. I also liked the Warre 70 but nobod...
