Do we get two guesses at the Magnum?
I’m against this precedent. Would we get only half a guess at a half?
Given our skills at guessing I'm not against two goes. Bringing a blind magnum in two bottles is enough to confuse us. More guesses might give more points and more joy (but probably won't).

Waitrose online included fortified. I mulled a little then bought a few more QdVesuvio 2011 at £45. My lack of willpower is legendary.

Re: The Book, ‘Port Vintages’, is for sale

I've just listened to the esteemed author on The UK Wine Show ThirtyFifty podcast where he talks about vintage port. Very entertaining and well worth a listen. There's also a follow up podcast which I haven't listened to yet, where he talks about The Book. Both very good, very well worth a listen.

A very good idea. I'd like to come, but only have Warre and I see Jasper already offering that, so I would have to adopt please.

Re: Warre's 1977 Vintage Port for sale (Valuation & Advice?)

Hi Stuart

Great advice, and thanks for the more accurate estimate. For precision, is £50 (£600 for 12) what Gus could expect to get net, or a gross figure excluding shipping to an auction and commission etc.? Thanks.

Re: Warre's 1977 Vintage Port for sale (Valuation & Advice?)

Could you let us know what the port levels in the bottles are please - shine a torch through the glass if it is difficult to see - are they in the neck, and if so by how much, or below the bottom of neck (the shoulder). Also, could you please post some pictures of the tops of the bottles to see caps...

What an amazing bottle to try. Thank you very much CMAG. Somewhat musty fruit cocktail to smell. To taste, musty, with orange, bruised apple, and strong underlying grapefruit. Dry. Complex. Echoes of sherry. Very long grapefruit finish. I took a little home and and am sipping it watching a program o...
